We invite you to join us for worship and fellowship on Sundays at 10am in our meetinghouse, 311 Linn Street in Iowa City.
The meeting for worship is the heart of the Religious Society of Friends. During worship we gather in silence for about an hour. Any of us who are worshiping together may speak out of the silence when so led. Worship closes when we shake hands with each other. Children are welcome.
We are a diverse group of seekers who follow no set dogma. We unite in worshiping together and supporting each other in our seeking. We also unite in working for simplicity, peace, integrity and equality, for better communities and a better relationship with our environment.
If you have questions please ask any of us. We have a small lending library in the meetinghouse that might help and you can look at the websites of Quaker organizations such as: Friends Committee on National Legislation (fcnl.org), Friends Council on Education (friendscouncil.org), Friends General Conference (fgcquaker.org), Friends Journal (friendsjournal.org), Friends World Committee for Consultation (fwccworld.org), Iowa Yearly Meeting (Conservative) (iymc.org), Pendle Hill (pendlehill.org), Quaker Earthcare Witness (quakerearthcare.org), and Scattergood Friends School and Farm (scattergood.org), American Friends Service Committee (afsc.org)
